Updates from Jim’s trip. Sent via his blackberry – Day 1 – Heading to Mexico Thanks to everyone for both your prayers and donations. I am at airport getting ready to head out. I am both anxious and nervous not sure what is really going to happen yet. I do know we will be working to build shelters on a landfill inside Mexico. We are headed into mexico later today to scope out what we will be working on then come backto the US to pick up the group at the airport. We are staying in the US at night and going across the border each day I know there are going to be some young kids living at this landfill and I am pretty excited to meet them. Our kids have given me a few of their toys that I am taking with me to hopefully give out. Plus I bought two HUGE bags of Starburst candy. And then this morning I bought rattlesnake eggs in the airport. Now for those that were fortuant enough to not have this gag played on you let me try to describe. It is an envelope with a metal washer tied to a rubber band stretched between a piece of metal. You twist the washer on the rubber band tight and close the envelope. Then when the person opens the envelope it vibrates like there is some thing in the envelope. Should be pretty funny and I am sure the kids will get a kick out of it.
